In this weeks installment of 9 Questions, I get to share some information about Nuria Archer. I know Nuria from the HRAM Diversity Committee, which she co-chairs. She is a great advocate for diversity in the workplace and in our community.
1.) Who are you, where do you work, what do you do there?
My name is Nuria Archer. I am a Sales Manager for the Aureus Group. I manage a team of recruiters specializing in the areas of Finance and Accounting and I also help in the promotion of our city in talking to potential employees from other states throughout the USA, concentrating in bringing a very diverse community together.
2.) Why do you do what you do?
My current position has allowed me to change and touch personal lives, not only on a professional level, but also on a very personal level. My clients success depends on the caliber of their employees. I have the unique opportunity to impact many companies in a variety of industries. Through the career I have chosen, I consult and assist in developing young professionals that will lead Omaha in the next few years.
3.) What is the unique value that your organization and / or your work brings to the community?
We bring great people and great jobs together
4.) What is the most challenging aspect of your work and what is the most rewarding?
Challenging: I can’t help everybody.
Rewarding: Seeing companies succeed because of the talent I have provided and seeing individuals grow at the positions they have been placed at.
5.) Where do you get new ideas about your work?
I am constantly on the phone talking to different people. I assist in numerous networking events and I am involved in multiple associations. I surf the web frequently and listen, listen, listen.
6.) What do you do to take care of yourself?
I spend time with my family outdoors, generally boating in Okoboji. Also I make sure I travel to Spain (home) once a year.
7.) What is your favorite thing about Omaha?
A town with big city flavor and endless possibilities
8.) What is the last good book that you read?
Good to Great by Jim Collins – again!
