Hola!
Finally getting back on the job after the holidays, some actual vacation time, and my annual social media break.
Good to be back.
While I was away…
- I celebrated Christmas and New Year with family. I am blessed.
- Our family welcomed two African toads into our home…our middle child has named them “justin bieber” and “justin bieber’s mother.” I cannot tell them apart, but am working on it.
- I rolled out a fresh version of the site…not a complete re-design, but some serious cleaning and polishing. I have some real ninjas (wendy and jodi) on my team and they do great work.
- I sent out my “d & i next practices” report.
- I spent a long, slow, quiet week with my wife on the North Shore of Oahu. Bliss. We were missing our kids like crazy by the time we came home, but Bliss.
- Jason and I pulled the trigger and sent our book to the printer…it will be available on Amazon in the very near future.
- I unsubscribed from over 300 email subscriptions (yeah, it was a problem).
- I read some really good books, including:
The Design of Business, Roger Martin
Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art, Scott Mcloud
The War of Art: Break Through Your Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles, Steven Pressfield
The Principles of Uncertainty, Maira Kalman
Trust the Process: An Artists Guide to Letting Go, Shaun McNiff
Power and Love: A Theory and Practice of Social Change, Adam Kahane
Basquiat, Marc Meyer
The Warrior Ethos, Steven Pressfield
Situations Matter: Understanding How Context Transforms Your World, Sam Sommers
All good. Really good. Lots of stuff bouncing around inside my skull.
Good to be back, 2012 looks good.
Be good to each other.
