The Rebirth

Please join a celebration of Native American Heritage Month at the Lewis
and Clark National Historic Trail Visitor Center in the National Park
Service Midwest Regional Office, at 601 Riverfront Drive, Omaha, Nebraska,
on Friday November 16, 2007 at 1:30 p.m.  We will host Mr. Fred LeRoy, an
enrolled member of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska and founder of The Fred
LeRoy Health and Wellness Center that provides services to members of the
Ponca and other Tribes. The Center– located in south Omaha–is one of a
few urban clinics that serves Native Americans in the United States.  We
also welcome Dr. Beth Ritter, Ph.D. Director of Academic Programs, Native
American Studies Associate Professor, Sociology/Anthropology & Native
American Studies University of Nebraska—Omaha, as they present their
program, “Termination and Restoration; The Rebirth of the Ponca Tribe of
Nebraska.”
