2008 has been a very cool year, for a lot of reasons. 2009 looks to be even better. One of the cool things about 2009 is that I will be part of The Guru Nation. Starting in January I will be one of their contributors and once I have some scheduling information, I will post it here…and other places. The Guru Nation is a place where people that are serious about their career can access some pretty high octane personal and professional development resources at a very affordable cost. Seems quite timely. As more and more organizations cut resources from their training and development budgets, this is a place to still provide some support to employees.
I do not even know who all the other folks involved are yet, but there are at least a few rockstars involved. Amy Dorn Kopelan, Cy Wakeman and Tammy Erickson are all a part of this community and I am a fan of these ladies and their work. Amy, one of the co-creators of The Guru Nation, is a former television executive and also wrote I Didn’t See It Coming. I just got to spend some time with Cy at the Iowa Young Professionals Conference where we were both on the agenda, and she also started blogging for Fast Company recently. And I recently read Workforce Crisis by Tammy Erickson…great book. It is very cool to be a part of something that they are a part of. Anyway…I am pretty excited about this new opportunity and blessed to be contributing to this trail blazing community.
