You’re invited.

Would you like to create a community where every student has the opportunity for college or vocational training, jobs and employment, and career opportunities?

Building Bright Futures (BBF) wants to help create that kind of community and needs your help to do so! You can help make it happen.

Come participate in an interactive Building Bright Futures Town Hall Meeting where you will have the opportunity to share your concerns, ideas, and suggestions about how to create world-class education and youth development in our community. You will have the opportunity to review preliminary work produced by the Bright Futures Task Forces, offer your own ideas, and express your priorities for the solutions. Then, through electronic keypad technology, you will receive instant feedback on preferences of the entire group.

There are three opportunities for you to participate:

  • Tuesday, January 22 | 6:00 to 8:30 pm North High School 4410 N. 36th Street
  • Wednesday, January 23 | 6:00 to 8:30 pm Livestock Exchange Building 4920 S. 30th St.
  • Thursday, January 24 | 6:00 to 8:30 pm Westside Community Center 3534 S. 108th St.

Child care and a light meal will be available free of charge starting at 5:30 pm.

Building Bright Futures was launched by some of Omaha’s leading citizens who have made a long-term commitment to make funding and other resources available to help youth succeed in school and life. BBF has grown to involve over 600 parents, students, teachers, administrators, business executives, service providers, and caring citizens from all walks of life. This diverse group has dedicated months to this effort and we need your input to decide what help and support our youth need.

These events will be different than most community meetings that you’ve attended. There will be no speeches and the focus of the meetings will be on group discussions where you can express your views about what should be done to help our youth. All of the results of the meeting will be presented to the Building Bright Futures Task Forces and Board.

Please join us on this journey. You can help make it happen.

Sincerely,

John Cavanaugh

Building Bright Futures

Executive Director

PS. Please encourage others to attend, especially those who have not yet been involved in the Building Bright Futures effort. This is a great opportunity to provide valuable input.
