Interfaith Architecture Tour
The role of images and icons in religious art and architecture
Sunday, March 9, 2008 | 1:00 – 5:00pm
Meet at the Hindu Temple ~ 13010 Arbor
Spend an an afternoon exploring the critical role that images and icons play in shaping religious art and architecture and the way art and architecture influence a religious community’s life and practices.
Tour two distinct local examples of this: The Hindu Temple and St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 602 Park Avenue.
The afternoon will conclude with a community reception and Greek dancing hosted by St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.
This program is open to the public and costs $5 per participant. Architects may receive learning units from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) ffor attending this program.
