Join other young professionals and community leaders at our 3rd Annual Young Professionals Summit to be held on March 6th, Omaha, NE at Qwest Center Omaha.
This year’s Summit theme is "Leading the Vision." Keynote speaker and bestselling author, Robin Sharma, is one of the world’s top experts on leadership, change management and personal mastery. He is now the Chief Executive Officer of Sharma Leadership International, a highly regarded training firm that helps organizations develop employees who "Lead Without Title."
The conference kicks-off with networking and community booths at 8 a.m. Keynote speaker at the 2007 Summit, Rebecca Ryan, founder of Next Generation Consulting, will be the opening speaker. Ryan is on a publicity tour for her newly released book, "Live First, Work Second." Two breakout sessions follow at 10 a.m. The keynote speaker luncheon is at 11:30 a.m. Afternoon breakout sessions begin at 1:15 p.m. David H. Dix, from The League of Young Voters, will wrap up the day by leading a session that shows young voters how to be players and winners in the political game.
Breakout session topics include career development, recruitment and retention tactics, and preparation of Omaha’s future workforce.
During the luncheon, the first annual Young Professionals Choice Award will be presented to Cox, recognizing their efforts to attract, retain and develop young professionals. Koley Jessen is the sponsor of this year’s award.
The Summit is "going green" as another exciting way to engage young professionals in leading the vision. This is the first Qwest Center Omaha event to go green. "It is a great example of young professionals leading the vision and taking action on an issue that is important to them," said Kirsten Case-Penrod, manager of leadership and workforce development for the Chamber. In addition to being the luncheon sponsor, HDR, Inc. is the Summit’s green partner. It includes on-site recycling bins, glass coffee mugs and reusable attendee packets. The food served will be locally produced.
Registration for the full day is $85 (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) or $45 for the keynote speaker and luncheon only.
