See you in Vegas?

The 2015 Society for Human Resource Management Annual Conference & Exposition is rapidly approaching and it is in Las Vegas this year. This is a big conference, so there would be lots to do and see regardless of where it was held, just due to the fact that it brings something like 15,000 H.R. professionals.

One of the things that I am really excited to be participating in, is the Poetry Slam. For each of the past 4 years there has been some type of fundraising event at the SHRM Annual conference for No Kid Hungry. This year the fundraiser is a Poetry Slam and I need your help.

If you are attending the conference, please consider joining us Monday, June 29th, you can register here.

Whether you are able to attend or not, please consider supporting us in our effort to raise money, you can contribute here.

I am also going to be one of the Poetry Slammers for this event, and need to throw together some original poetry…I am seeking suggestions on what my poem should be about…let me know if you have any ideas!

I am also excited to be speaking at this conference for the 5th consecutive year, and would love to connect if you are going to be in Vegas.

On Sunday, June 28th, from 8:00am-12:00, I am presenting a pre-conference workshop on Building an Inclusive Organizational Culture.

On Monday, June 29th, from 2:00pm-3:15, Jason Lauritsen and I are presenting a mega-session on Authentic Leadership.

On Tuesday, June 30th, from 10:45am-12:00, I am presenting a break-out session on The Future of Diversity & Inclusion: 5 Next Practices.

And finally, on Wednesday, July 1st at 11:10am I am presenting a short spotlight presentation on Freak Flag Flying.

If you are going to be in Vegas, and want to connect those are a few places where you will be able to find me.

Be good to each other.

This seems to be a great event, especially as it brings together so many H.R. professionals. What really touches my heart is the fundraising part as it tackles a subject that cannot be ignored. My idea of a poem would be to stick to the importance of children and their development as responsible adults? What do you think?

    Hello Joe,

Sounds like good stuff all round. I’m pleased to hear about your Poetry Slam fundraiser at the SHRM Conference. Will this include your iconic work, Waflooza?

    Best wishes,
    Stuart
